Ordinary Women . . .Resonance and Resilience

Researching Resilience

As a researcher, I am interested in the lives of Ordinary Women.  Many of the women who contributed their stories to Understanding the Ways that Women Think and Feel (Bean, 2005) have encouraged me to continue exploring how events and emotions shape our self-worth . . leading us, at times, into relationships where we feel hopeless or helpless to change our lives.  And yet, these very women, because they have chosen to reach out and speak up, have taken that first step into resilience.  Resilience has many meanings . . and we each define it through our own perceptive lens.  Currently I am looking for stories of resilience . . and without your help, I am only echoing the sound of my own voice. . .and only sharing my own beliefs and values of how I see it in our lives.

If you prefer to email your thoughts or your story . . post a note in the comment section and I will give you an address (so we can avoid the spammers:)  For more information on this research . .and listening to the voices of ordinary women, please visit . .http://ordinarywomen-drjillybean.blogspot.com/
